The short version

ARIS is local-first by design: the software runs on your hardware, over your network, and your image files never leave your disk unless you move them. This site collects the minimum needed to run a waitlist and, later, subscriptions.

What we collect

Waitlist: your email address, an optional first name, and the optional hardware survey (mount, camera, focuser, current setup). We use it to invite you to early access, shape beta cohorts, and build a public compatibility roadmap. We email you about ARIS and nothing else.

Site analytics: privacy-respecting, cookieless aggregate analytics (page views, referrers). No cross-site tracking, no advertising identifiers.

Accounts & subscriptions (when they open): account email, authentication identifiers, plan and subscription status, and payment records held by our payment processor. ARIS never sees or stores full card numbers.

Crash reports

App crash reports: the ARIS app contains crash reporting that is off in normal builds — it activates only in builds we explicitly configure with a reporting key (today: our own internal development builds). When it is active and something breaks, a report is sent with the technical state at the moment of failure: the error and stack trace, app version, device model and OS, and a short trail of recent in-app events. A screenshot of the app at that moment may be attached in our internal development builds only — public builds do not attach screenshots. When reporting is active we also record sampled performance timings (how long screens and requests take). Reports are sent only when an error actually occurs; this is not analytics or tracking.

Crash reports are held by our error-tracking provider for its standard 90-day window, then deleted automatically. If crash reporting ever ships enabled in a public build, we will say so in the app and give you a switch. Email [email protected] to have a report deleted sooner.

What we never do

We do not sell your data. We do not run third-party advertising. Your astrophotography data — captures, sequences, equipment profiles on your rig — stays on your hardware.

Retention & deletion

Waitlist data is kept until launch invitations complete or you ask us to remove you. Email [email protected] to see, correct, or delete anything we hold about you.
